Out of all the experiences so far, being a property agent has been the most painful and the most fulfilling at the same time.

In your darkest hour, you despair at the ugly side of people, people who would do anything and everything to earn an extra dollar. In your brightest hour, you see the glow on people's faces as they bask in their new homes and you share the pride & joy of having contributed to that.

The greatest challenge is to remain objective through adversity, in spite of all the emotional turmoil. And through the adversity, comes strength. But what lends you strength to keep going in spite of challenges?

A reason to do the things that you do.

I started off in this career, to clear my hefting $10,000+ debts of withdrawing from the fashion business. At one point, I took on 3 jobs at a go to clear it off quicker and sustain myself, so as not to let my parents worry. And as I progressed along in my career, I continuously found reasons for me to be where I am and love the work that I do. I enjoy meeting new people. I enjoy the analysis of people and identifying the best areas for them based on their budget. I enjoy the kick of finding that place that clicks with their hearts. Most of all, I enjoy seeing myself grow through the progress and finding strength in myself that I never knew existed.

It is never always about the money.

So yes, choose whatever it is you want to do, there are many things you can do in your life and many reasons why you can choose to do what you do... just not let money be the only reason.

Let love be a reason too.

A Reason To Write

Ever since I decided to become a property agent, I found myself facing multiple stress on multiple levels - from Clients, to Agents, to even how my parents felt about my choice of becoming an agent.

I took a holiday in Sabah, climbed the mountain and returned to a new level of stress.

Vexed, I picked up the book - Chicken Soup for the Writer's Soul and came upon this inscription:

'When you write from the heart, you not only light the dark path of your readers, you light your own way as well.'

I was inspired.

I had given up blogging and writing for a long time, with that aching feeling of having nothing valuable to say and the weight on my shoulders about the impression I wanted to make on people through my blog. I was afraid of being judged and doubted my own personality and character.

This blog, hence serves to return to my very roots - to the reason why I wrote in the first place - because there are simply so many stories in this world to be told and this is simply mine.
